Condorpaxi
The best hike in the Andes! Our latest tour takes you away from the tourist track, in a magnificent landscape with the most distinctive and famous mountain top view. We follow the route of William Reiss, who in 1872 went up first to the present base camp of Cotopaxi. With a little luck we could see some local wild life such as condors, deer, wolves and other small animals. This is a relatively easy going and very scenic trek, it helps as training and acclimatization for prominent and major peaks. We use Local Haciendas and cozy lodges cozy creating the perfect atmosphere for this great experience.
Summary Tour
Day 1 - Pasochoa Volcano
Transfer to Pasochoa Volcano Area and Hike to the crater edge and summit 4200mt. Back to the lodge for diner and overnight.
Day 2.- Rumiñahui Volcano
Trek along Limpiopungo lake and Rumiñahui flanks and ascent to the summit (4740mt.), Back to the lodge for diner.
Day 3.- Cotopaxi Glacier Edge
Transfer to Parking lot in Cotopaxi (4600mt.) and hike to the glacier rim (5000mt.). Back to the hut for lunch and transfer to another Lodge / Hacienda in the base of Corazon volcano. Diner.
Day 4.- Corazon Volcano
Trek in the "Paramos" of Corazon Volcano area and climb along the ridge to the summit (4770mt.). Back to the lodge for diner.
Day 5.- Iliniza North Peak
Early breakfast and transfer to Parking lot in "La Virgen" (4000mt.). Trek to the Hut and climb over the ridge to the summit. Back by the screed slopes to the parking lot. Drive back to Quito.
